MANDAUE CITY, CEBU — Police are now investigating the deaths of two persons inside their home in Sitio Lapyahan, Barangay Labogon, Mandaue City whose lifeless bodies were discovered on Thursday morning, March 28, 2019.

The victims were identified as Ricardo Avinido, 38, and his common-law wife, Agnes Pogoy, 36.

SPO2 Allain Carado of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) said based on their records, Avinido earlier surrendered to the police for using illegal drugs.

Police have not identified the circumstances of the deaths although they are eyeing Avinido’s links to the illegal drugs trade as one of the possible motives.

Police recovered a firearm in the crime scene although further details have not been made available to the media.

The couple has seven children.

The eldest is 13 years old, while the youngest is less than a year old.

A relative is currently taking care of the children. / celr
