NBI-7 nets P90K worth of suspected shabu in Tagbilaran

CEBU CITY,  Philippines — An estimated P90,000 worth of illegal drugs were confiscated during a buy-bust operation conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation in Central Visayas (NBI-7) in Tagbilaran City in the Province of Bohol at around 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2019.

According to the NBI-7, those arrested were  brothers —Joseph Carlo Aguaviva, 28, Jan Ruel Aguaviva, 32, — and Cristina Limetares, 30.

Aside from the illegal drugs, the NBI-7 agents also confiscated drug paraphernalia, a cellphone and cash believed to be proceeds of the illegal drug trade.

At dawn on the same day, in Cebu City, a couple was also arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tisa and police confiscated several packs of suspected shabu with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P136,000.

In the Bohol operation, Special Investigator Froilan Grageda of NBI-7  said that Joseph Carlo was recently released from prison due to plea bargaining last November 29, 2019.

The three suspects are residents of Purok 4, Manga District in Tagbilaran City, Province of Bohol.

They were detained at the NBI detention cell in Tagbilaran City pending the filing of charges. /dbs
