Cellphone technician nabbed with P3.4M ‘shabu’ in Inayawan bust
CEBU CITY, Philippines — A cellphone technician, who allegedly moonlights as a wholesale dealer of illegal drugs, was arrested after he was caught with P3.4 million worth of suspected shabu during an anti-illegal drugs operation in Barangay Inayawan, Cebu City on Sunday, March 31.
Marvin Aton Sabellano, 40, a resident of Sitio Lower Market in Barangay Inayawan, was arrested after he was caught with 500 grams of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in his house in the barangay, said Police Captain Dexter Basirgo, Guadalupe Police Precinct chief, in an interview with CDN Digital.
Basirgo said that the confiscated packs of suspected shabu had an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P3.4 million.
This is the second P3.4 million drug haul in Cebu City in a span of 10 days. The first one was in the Barangay Labangon buy-bust operation on March 17 where 20-year-old Carl James dela Cerna was caught with a half kilo of suspected shabu.

He said that they planned and conducted the buy-bust operation after they received information from one of the drug suspects that they arrested in a previous operation about where he got his supply of illegal drugs.
“Si Sabellano matud pa maoy binlanan og shabu kinsa kon imong obserbahan dili mailhan kay ang panimalay niini naa man duol sa merkado ug sudlonon gamay,” Basirgo said.
(Sabellano would allegedly get away with having illegal drugs dropped off in his house without anyone noticing it because his house is near the market but is a few meters away from the road.)
Basirgo said that Sabellano would allegedly sell a bigger amount of drugs or it could be called “wholesale selling.”
When sought for comment about his arrest, Sabellano told CDN Digital that his supplier of illegal drugs had just made a supply drop in his house when the police raided his house.
He also said that his house was allegedly just a drop off area for the suspected shabu and he would allegedly get paid for having the illegal drugs stored in his house.
He, however, did not name his alleged drug supplier.
Sabellano was detained at the Guadalupe Police Station detention cell pending the filing of charges./dbs
