Sharks create four-way logjam at the top of Elite Cebu standings

Cebu City, Philippines — The Sharks forged a four-way tie at the top of the standings after they blitzed the Lions, 77-59, in the Elite Basketball Club Cebu City – Season 14 last Sunday, April 7, 2019, at the Visayan Glass Gym in Guadalupe.

Sweet-shooting big man Prince Malana led the Sharks’ attack with 20 points while RV Dolloso and former Cebu City Sharks wingman Ian Ortega added 12 to push their record to 4-2 (win-loss) and into a tie with Tigers, Eagles and the Cheetahs.

In another game, the Rams edged the Cheetahs, 87-84. 

Edward Saberon led four players in double-figures for the Rams with 25 points while Mark Lubiano had 17 in the close victory.

The Panthers came back from a seven-point deficit at the start of the fourth to tear apart the Wolves, 80-74. 

Prince Panes and Paul Salarda proved to be too much to handle for the Wolves as the former had 24 points while the latter put up 20.

The Panthers, the Wolves and the Rams are all tied with identical 3-3 records.
