Cebu City, Philippines—The University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF)-led Central Visayas girls’ volleyball squad is now assured of a quarterfinal slot after defeating Western Visayas on Tuesday afternoon in the ongoing Palarong Pambansa in Davao City.

USPF routed Bacolod Tay Tung School, who represented Western Visayas, 25-21, 28-26.

Western Visayas finished with the bronze last year and clinched the title in last year’s National PRISAA competition.

According to head coach Yolly Rizarri, should they win their match against Region 2 Cagayan Valley on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, they will end the elimination at the top of their bracket. /bmjo
