Remac: 51% election parapahernalia for Cebu province delivered as of 5 p.m.

CEBU CITY, Philippines — All election paraphernalia are highly sensitive materials, and thus, the seemingly tight delivery schedule.

Lawyer Jerome Brillantes, acting Cebu Provincial election supervisor, said this as his explanation of the Regional Election Monitoring Action Center (Remac) data showing that only 51 percent of election paraphernalia had been delivered to their respective polling centers in Cebu province as of 5 p.m.

“In the provision of the Comelec (Commission on Election), ang paraphernalia i-deliver gyud na on the day of the election,” said Brillantes in a phone interview with CDN Digital on May 12.

(In the Comelec provision, election paraphernalia are to be delivered on the day of the election.)

Remac is situated at the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas headquarters.

The Comelec had earlier set schedules on the delivery of these materials to its respective polling centers.

There are 1,047 polling centers under the Cebu province.

Meanwhile, Cebu City, Mandaue City, Lapu Lapu City had already delivered  all the election paraphernalia to the polling centers in their areas.

Cebu City has 70 polling centers, Mandaue City has 27 polling centers and Lapu-Lapu City has 38 polling centers./dbs
