Cebu City, Philippines—The motorcycle of  former village watchman Anever Enriquez was burned at around 8 a.m. on election day, May 13, 2019, in Sitio Kantisang, Barangay Paril in Cebu City.

Police Captain Jonathan Taneo, office in charge of the Talamban Police Station, said that Enriquez was on his way to vote when he was told by neighbors that his 2007 Rusi motorcycle parked at the back of his house caught fire.

Taneo said that they have asked assistance from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Central Visayas to investigate whether the incident was a case of arson or if the motorcycle simply overheated.

“The owner already expressed that his motorcycle was old and faulty,” said Taneo in a phone interview with CDN Digital.

Authorities are still in the area waiting for BFP-7 personnel.

Taneo is a suporter of the Bando Osmeña-Pundok Kauswagan (BO-PK). /bmjo
