CEBU CITY, Philippines— The heat is on for the 2019 midterm elections and so is the temperature here in Cebu.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration in Mactan (Pagasa-Mactan) has recorded the maximum temperature for today, May 13, at 35.3 degrees Celsius with a heat body index of 41 degrees Celsius.

No wonder individuals have been feeling uncomfortable as they lined up to cast their votes.

Van Singson, weather specialist of Pag-asa Mactan, said the maximum temperature was recorded at 1:44 p.m.

The temperature dropped to 33.5 degrees Celsius around 3 p.m. with the heat body index of 38 degrees Celsius.

Pagasa Mactan reminded the public to stay hydrated and avoid going out under the intense heat of the sun. / celr
