IN NUMBERS: 82% of Cebu City’s registered voters take stand
CEBU CITY, Philippines — A total of 581,879 individuals or 82 percent of Cebu City’s total registered voters made their way to their respective precincts today, May 13, to exercise their right to suffrage and choose the next batch of local and national leaders.
As of 7 p.m., based on data from the Regional Election Monitoring Action Center (Remac) that is located at the headquarters of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7), Cebu City has a total of 709,608 registered voters.
Mandaue City recorded the highest number of voter turnout at 93 percent or 210,265 voters. Mandaue City’s registered voters is at 226,091 individuals.
However, there have yet 10 precincts in Mandaue City that have not yet transmitted their election results.
In Lapu-Lapu City, a total of 177,717 individuals casted their votes or 83 percent of the total number of registered voters which is at 214,117 individuals.
In Cebu Province — which does not include the highly-urbanized cities of Cebu, Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu — only 59 percent or 1,140,355 of the registered voters casted their votes. The total number of registered voters in Cebu province is 1,932,805.
Central Visayas covers the highly-urbanized cities of Cebu, Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu; component towns and cities of Cebu Province; and the provinces of Bohol, Negros Oriental and Siquijor.
Regionwide, there are 4,945,614 registered voters. Around 71 percent of these voters or 3,517, 106 casted their votes on election. (Please, refresh this page for updates.)/celr
