Habal-habal driver shoots jealous neighbor
A 20-year old man shot his neighbor who suspected him of having an affair with his wife.
Jhon Philip Taburada was waiting outside his home for 38-year-old Randy Lopez, to pass by before shooting him on his neck, left arm and buttocks in sitio Katugasan, barangay Casili in Consolacion town at 1 a.m. last Saturday.
Lopez was rushed to the Eversely Child Sanitarium in Mandaue City but was later transferred to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center. Taburada then fled the crime scene after the incident.
Lopez initially told police investigators that Taburada shot him at random but further investigation showed that the two had previous altercations after Lopez got jealous of him.
“Kana si Randy Lopez, seloso daw kaayo na siya. Mag selos siya sa iyang asawa ug ni Taburada (Randy Lopez is very jealous and he’s jealous of his wife and Taburada’s closeness),” said PO1 Archie Caputolan of the Consolacion Police Office.
Taburada is a habal-habal driver who fetches Lopez’s children to and from school.
