The Cebuana winner of Miss Tourism International 2013 gets the chance to show Cebu to her fellow pageant winners and candidates as they include Cebu city and Cebu province in their 13-day tour in the Philippines.

The Department of Tourism-organized tour will take Cebuana Miss Tourism International 2013 Angeli Dione Gomez and five others to Oslob town in southern Cebu which is known for its whale sharks and the Tumalog Falls.

They arrived at the Mactan Cebu International Airport yesterday at 5:35 p.m. and are scheduled to have a tour around Cebu City in vintage cars.

“The whole tour is about bringing my co-candidates around the Philippines. This is to introduce the Philippine products, music, art and everything,” Gomez told the reporters in a press conference.

“I’ve been telling them about (lechon) before we arrived here and I told them there will be no exemption,” Gomez added, laughing.

The event is one way of promoting the tourism industry in the Philippines.

“I want them to experience it all and bring back to their hometown and share it to other people in their countries,” she said.

Joining the tour are Phan Hoàng Thu (Vietnam), Ásdís Lísa Karlsdottir (Iceland), Maria Rautio (Finland), Lucie Klukavá (Czech Republic) and Kylie Miller (New Zealand).

Their 13-day tour started last June 30 and will end on July 12. They have been to Intramuros in Manila, as well as experienced Camarines Sur’s wakeboarding, deer farm, and falls.

After Cebu, they will go to Boracay.
