Traffic stalled as acacia tree fell on truck in San Fernando town

A century-old acacia tree fell on a passing hauler truck along the national highway at San Fernando town, southern Cebu, Wednesday afternoon.

PO2 Clepaf Cabrera, Jr. of San Fernando Police said traffic was stalled for more than four hours since 3:40 p.m. as vehicles couldn’t pass through barangay Balod, the accident site.

Benjie Pobadora, a truck boy of the hauler truck was identified as among those injured.

Mayor Abe Canoy said a team led by his son Vice Mayor Mikko went to the area to help clear the area using a chainsaw.
