By: Norman V. Mendoza July 12,2014 - 07:30 AM

A 48-YEAR-OLD fisherman was shot dead by two neighbors inside his house Thursday evening in barangay Poblacion, Lapu-Lapu City.

Wiliam Estores, of sitio Langub, was sprawled lifeless in his house when police arrived.
Police named Arori Hassan and a certain “Opao” as suspects.

PO2 John Carlo Jocutan of the city’s homicide section said the victim was watching TV with his children when Hassan and Opao appeared at 6:45 p.m. and fired thrice.

Neighbors and relatives of the victim heard the gunfire. Some of them saw the suspects hurriedly fleeing from the victim’s house, police said.

Virginia Estores, the victim’s wife, said that a certain Opao who was with Hassan shot her husband, who died from gunshot wounds in the chest and head.

According to Virginia, the suspect held a personal grudge against the victim, who always reminded his 22-year-old son not to associate with Hassan.

Hassan reportedly made Estores’ son his errand boy. Hassan and the victim had also previously argued over cleanliness in the neighborhood.

The victim left 10 children.
