Amihan to bring rains, cold weather over PH
MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon or “amihan” will continue to bring rains and cold weather over the country on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
“Umiiral pa rin ang amihan o northeast monsoon sa buong bansa. Ito’y nagdadala ng mahihina at katatamtamang ulan sa ilang bahagi ng Luzon at Visayas,” Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said in a weather report.
(Northeast monsoon continues to affect the whole country and will bring light to moderate rains in parts of Luzon and Visayas.)
Based on Pagasa’s forecast, Bicol region and Samar provinces will experience cloudy skies with rains, where flash floods and landslides may occur during moderate with at times heavy rains.
Cloudy skies with light rains will prevail over Cagayan Valley, the rest of Visayas, Caraga, and the provinces of Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon, with no significant impact.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, with no significant impact.
Pagasa is also not monitoring any cloud clusters that may intensify into a storm or a low pressure area, Estareja said.
“Kapansin pansin pa rin ‘yung ating mababang temperatura for today,” Estareja said.
(The low temperatures are still there.)
