2 riders die in freak SRP accident, another injured in Busay crash

CEBU CITY, Philippines — Two riders, one a bicyclist the other a motorcyclist died in a freak early morning accident at the South Road Properties in Cebu City on Friday, February 12, 2021,

According to the Mambaling Police Station, the motorcycle driver identified as Jason Inot, 34, was traversing at high speed toward Talisay Proper when he lost control of his motorcycle and hit the still unidentified biker who was crossing the street at that time carrying his bicycle.

The biker was believed to be around 50 years old.

Due to the impact, the two men were thrown off and landed hard on the pavement. They were both rushed to a nearby hospital where they were declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Meanwhile, about an hour later, another biker was injured when he figured in an accident with was a Ceres bus near Mr. A, in Barangay Busay, Cebu City.

Mabolo police identified the involved parties as 35-year-old Jundy Maraon, the cyclist, and Roel Jordlan, 42, the bus driver.

According to the police, Maraon was maneuvering a downhill portion of the area near Mr. A while Jordlan was going uphill.

The two collided at a curve portion of the road. Dashcam footage retrieved by authorities showed that the accident happened on the lane taken by Jordlan.

Maraon was immediately taken to the Cebu City Medical Center for treatment. /rcg
