PLASTIC packs suspected to contain shabu with an estimated street value of P2 million were found in the house of a man allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade in barangay San Roque in Cebu City.

Ronald Miramontes, escaped, but his alleged cohorts Rolando Ponso, 34, and Ronald Monteron were arrested by officers from the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) of the Cebu City Police Office.

Miramontes, who was the target in the drug sting, fled after noticing that undercover policemen were about to pounce on him after he sold a pack of shabu to a poseur-buyer, said Supt. Romeo Santander, chief of CIB.

Police said Miramontes jumped into a creek and disappeared in the dark.

Ponso, who was with Miramontes, was arrested after he was caught in possession of the illegal drugs.

Police said they found more drugs packed in eight big plastic bags, a .25 cal. pistol and drug paraphernalia.
