‘Perla’— the best evening gown in Bb. Pilipinas coronation night

CEBU CITY, Philippines—The trend for pageant gowns using symbolism as one of the the main elements in creating world-class gowns has become the norm in the country since the phenomenal win of Catriona Gray at the Miss Universe 2018 competition.

Filipino designers now incorporate Philippine culture and heritage in their designs, which give simple elegance and a sense of pride when worn by any Filipina representative in the international stage.

In the recently held Binibining Pilipinas pageant, one Binibini—who had the best evening gown and who stood out among the others, was given the award.

Gabrielle wore a gold and white beaded gown that showed off the intricate designs.

It has an embellished veil that she removed at the end of her walk to symbolize “the hope of unmasking” the worries of the world.

“I dedicate this hooded gown to the current situation of the world, as the world is covered with uncertainties. This hood symbolizes the hope of unmasking those worries and going forward,” she said.

The “Perla” gown was indeed one of the most beautifully designed gowns during the pageant and it really looked  gorgeous on Gabby.

Netizens and pageant fans in the Philippines lauded the gown and Gabby’s sophisticated performance during the evening gown competition as the #EasternSamar trended on Twitter that night.

She finished first runner-up followed by Valenzuela’s Meiji Cruz as 2nd runner-up.

Masbate’s Hannah Arnold won the Binibining Pilipinas International title; Cavite’s Samantha Panlilio got the Binibining Grand International crown; Cagayan de Oro’s Cinderella Obenita bagged Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental; Batangas’ Maureen Montagne won Binibining Pilipinas Globe.
