CEBU CITY, Philippines — A university in downtown Cebu was swathed with pink on Thursday, February 24.

Thousands of supporters from different parts of Cebu flocked to Southwestern University (SWU) in Urgello Street, Cebu City to attend the first grand rally of Vice President Ma. Leonor Robredo and her running mate, Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan.

Most of those who went to join the sortie were young adult voters.

Joining Robredo and Pangilinan on Thursday’s event included aspiring Senators Antonio Trillanes III, Dick Gordon, Alex Lacson, and Sonny Matula

Local bets from Bando Osmeña-Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK), led by former Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña and his wife, former councilor Margot Osmeña were also present during Thursday’s activity.

BOPK, which has fielded Margot as its standard-bearer, officially endorsed Robredo’s Presidential bid.

The sortie in SWU lasted more than four hours.

Aside from Cebu City, Robredo and Pangilinan also visited Talisay City, Toledo City, and Argao town in southern Cebu.         /rcg
