The rehabilitation of the Fuente Osmeña Circle including its century-old fountain will push through after Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide approved the project which occupies a province-owned lot.

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama said he designated acting City Engineer Jose Marie Poblete to represent City Hall in ongoing discussions with M. Lhuillier on how to implement the plan.

Rama said the rehabilitation would include the fountain , replacement of lights, and the circular path that will be paved with bricks.

The mayor said the grill fence should also be replaced to prevent people from jumping over it when there are activities held inside the Fuente Osmeña Circle.

The Lhuilliers earlier committed to allocate P13 million for the rehabilitation under a private-public-partnership (PPP).
