A 3-year-old girl was rescued by Cordova Police and the Department of Social Welfare and Development after she was allegedly raped by her father.
A concerned neighbor called the attention of the DSWD and the police onThursday after she discovered that the child has been abused.
According to the neighbor, she always hears the girl crying hard at dawn.
This happens every time her father goes home drunk.
Neighbors also said the girl is often left alone, as her father, 41, a truck helper is working everyday and her siblings are in school.
Oftentimes, she is left without food and their neighbors just give her food.
The victim has five older siblings aged 18, 17, 15, 9, and seven.
Their mother died of asthma when the victim was still 8 months old. After her death, the children were brought to the orphanage as the father could not promise he can provide them food.
However, when the victim turned one, he took them all back.
PO2 Maria Ilona Lourdes Cimafranca of the Women’s and Children’s Desk of Cordova Police Station said the medical test confirmed that the child was raped.
The father came to DSWD to fetch her daughter. There, he was arrested.
According to Cimafranca, aside from the medical test, the child also revealed what her father did to her.
What alarmed them more was the child’s revelation that her 15-year-old brother also raped her.
The father denied the allegations and also defended his son. The father pointed to his son’s friend as the one who abused the girl. The 15-year-old brother is now in the custody of the DSWD while the father was charged with rape yesterday.
