UC table netters gun for three-peat in inter- scholastica meet in Angeles City
THE vaunted University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters table tennis team guns for its own version of a three-peat win it defends its crown in the Philippine Open Inter Scholastica Table Tennis Championships in Angeles City on Oct. 23-26.
Jessica Honoridez, the head coach of UC Webmasters said she is fielding a complete cast of her best table netters in the four-day meet to make sure that her wards will defend their overall title.
“We will try our best to capture our third straight title. This tournament is very important, I hope my players will deliver,” Honoridez told Cebu Daily News.
Honoridez will field in 22 players including Dannel Jay Tormis, Vel Stephen Jaca, Francis Bendebel, Lemuel Agbon, Fausto Zeus Comaingking, John Vincent Cabaluba, Herby Vince Betarmos, David Maneja, Clyde Emil Jaca, Francis Aurencio, Joshua Rojo, Nash Agad, Chrisjohn Cabaluna, Berto Bas, Efren Jacalan, Sotero Rose Rojo, Jerny Kay Pepito, Diana Oliverio, Jennifer Jacalan, Jeramae Saromines, Lezlie Agbon and Leah Agbon.
The UC Webmasters recently dominated the collegiate division of the 22nd Jawad Cup here in Cebu City last September against some of the country’s best table tennis clubs and teams.
