Local runners need not worry as organizers of the 3rd Royal Run of Hotel Elizabeth decided to separate foreign runners in each category of the race slated this Sunday starting at Ayala Center Cebu’s The Terraces.

This is the first time local and foreign runners will be separated in each category and Elizabeth Hotel manager Katherine Angala said this is done due to the request of local runners.

“We want this running event to be convenient and enjoyable for both local and foreign runners,” Angala said. “That’s why we decided to separate the foreign and local winners in all distances.”

This means that each distance will now have local and foreign champions. Distances offered are 21-kilometer, 10k and 5k.

The running event aims to raise funds for the Jesus and Elizabeth (J and E) Foundation’s scholarship program. It is also held in line with the celebration of the 40th anniversary of JB Music and Sports shop, a sister company of Hotel Elizabeth.

“This running event is part of our Corporate Social Responsibility and all of the proceeds of this will go straight to the J and E foundation of the hotel’s CEO Elizabeth Fernando. We don’t make money out of this running event. We want only to celebrate JB Music and Sports 40th anniversary at the same time help the community.” Angala added.

Part of the proceeds will aide retired musicians through JB Music and Sports’ charity works. According to Angala, JB Music and Sports has also been an active catalyst in helping retired musicians for the past decades.

Registration is going on at the Hotel Elizabeth and Active Zone of Ayala Center Cebu. Registration fee is pegged at P450 for the 21k. Deadline for registration is on Friday.
