A 58-YEAR-OLD Canadian man was found dead in his rented house in barangay Luyang, Carmen town, northern Cebu,

Police said David Leslie Mortimer was found dead while seated on an armchair Wednesday morning.

Police said the owner of the house, Saturnina Sabayton, went to check on the man when she was informed that a foul odor was coming from the house and a swarm of flies were seen at the main door.

Police said Sabayton peeped through a window and saw the Canadian unconscious in the living room.

Insp. Ricardo Echavez, chief of the Carmen Police Station, said the man had been suffering from diabetes.
