Young runners will make up most of the participants in today’s 3rd Royal Run of the Hotel Elizabeth that starts and ends at the Ayala Center Cebu’s The Terraces.
According to race director Joel Juarez of Coco Running, most of the runners who will answer the starting gun are teenagers and young adults.
They are among the 1,600 who enlisted for this race, which aims to raise funds for the Jesus and Elizabeth (J and E) Foundation’s scholarship program. The event is also part of the hotel’s fourth anniversary and the 40th anniversary of sister company JB Music and Sports.
Juarez believes part of the reason why there are younger participants is because of the free concert after the race that features famous Cebuano rock bands Urbandub and Franco.
Hotel Elizabeth CEO Elizabeth Fernando and vice president Jean Salonga Fernando are expected to grace today’s event.
