The La Salle Lady Archers tied the defending champions Ateneo Lady Eagles at the top of the standings with a 25-23 28-26 25-17 victory over the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in the UAAP Season 77 women’s volleyball tournament yesterday at The Arena in San Juan.
Cebuana Cyd Demecillo combined with Ara Galang for 36 points to power La Salle to its third straight win.
Demecillo, who used to play for the University of Southern Philippines-Foundation, bailed out La Salle with a set-clinching kill to give her team a 2-0 set advantage. Galang and Demecillo then joined forces in the third set with their key hits to lift the Lady Spikers to their third straight win and join the Lady Eagles on top.
