500 aspiring cagers suit up for inaugural MGBL- Prosel Pharma Inc. 3×3 hoop

CEBU CITY, Philippines — Over 500 aspiring cagers are expected to test their mettle in the first Minglanilla G-Sports Basketball League (MGBL)- Prosel Pharma Inc. 3×3 Basketball Tournament slated on December 18, 2022, at the Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) in Barangay Punta Princesa, here.

MGBL, a fast-rising sports group based in Minglanilla which has an ongoing 5-on-5 basketball tournament further ventured into the sport in partnership with Prosel Pharma Inc.

They officially launched the tournament on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at the Sunburst Mango.

The launching was headed by no less than MGBL co-founder Gerry Canonigo, Prosel Pharma Inc. senior regional sales manager Emilia Ceniza, and district sales manager Leowin Asenjo.

Joining them were Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas (SBP) Region VII’s Jonathan Saso, MGBL co-founders Neil Sasan and Galimar Largo.

“One of our visions in GSports is to become one of the launch pads or avenues for all sports in Cebu. So dili lang sa basketball, sa volleyball, table tennis, athletics, boxing ug martial arts,” said Canonigo.

“Karon, kaning 3×3 dugay na nako ang plano kay dili tanan teams maka create ug 5-on-5 teams, so chance nani sa mga players nga makaduwa ug basketball. Also, ang 3×3 maka enganyo sad sa mga beginners sa basketball.”

Canonigo further explained that their one-day tournament will serve as a fitting activity for teams who haven’t played in their regular schedule due to the pandemic, including the SBP regional tilt.

“Amo siya gi himong prelude for a bigger event, GSports is planning by December after Cesafi to create Inter-School Division 1 and Division 2, for teams and schools with varsities in Cesafi,” added Canonigo.

SOLID BACKER

For her part, Ceniza revealed that Prosel Pharma Inc. has been a partner of G-Sports since the group was formed a few years back.

They initially sponsored small leagues with G-Sports until they finally agreed to become the main backer of the ongoing MGBL league in Minglanilla and the upcoming 3×3 event.

“Prosel has been ever since our supporter, especially during our baby steps. We hope that our partnership will last in our future endeavors. Sa wala pa sila nisikat, naa na jud mi ni suporta nila. Mabalik na sad ang unsa among nasugdan. Also, as a pharmaceutical company, we want to promote our product and want to strengthen our partnership with Gerry (Canonigo),” said Ceniza.

The registration fee for the 11-under and 13-under is pegged at P350 per player, and P400 for the 15-under and 18-under. The registration fee is inclusive of P250 worth of Prosel Pharma products.
