Dawn fire guts two houses in Mabolo
A dawn fire gutted two houses in Tres Borces street, barangay Mabolo, Cebu City yesterday.
The fire reportedly started at the house of Pia Bontuyan and spread to an adjacent house owned by her aunt, Esterlina.
SF03 Daniel Relatado, fire investigator of Mabolo Fire Station said the alarm was tapped at 3:22 a.m. and was placed under control after five minutes.
Relatado pegged the damage at P50,000.
Investigation revealed that Pia was awakened by a burning smell.
When she checked, her living room was already on fire.
No one was reported hurt during the blaze.
Relatado said they are considering the possibility that it was due to electrical misuse as the fire reportedly started at the ceiling of the house.
