The Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) conducted a final coordinating meeting with different representatives on Wednesday, January 11 for the Traslacion and other Sinulog-related activities that will be held in the city.

MANDAUE CITY, Philippines — A few changes will be implemented during the Traslacion on Friday, January 13, and other Sinulog-related activities that will be held in Mandaue City.

On Wednesday, January 11, the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) conducted a final coordinating meeting with officials of the National Shrine of St. Joseph, the Bureau of Fire and Protection, the Philippine Army, and the Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue, among others, to discuss the preparation for these activities.

Changes in some of the activities and finalization of deployment, among others, were opened up.

Contrary to what was used to, the image of St. Joseph will meet and welcome the images of the Holy Child and Our Lady of Guadalupe at the boundary of Cebu City and Mandaue City in Barangay Subangdaku.

Usually, St. Joseph is stationed at the National Shrine of St. Joseph, and only the images of Sto. Niño and Our Lady of Guadalupe will travel from Cebu City to the Parish and will stay for one day before it will be transferred to the Nuestra Señora De Regla National Shrine in Lapu-Lapu City at 12 a.m on Saturday, January 14.

This time, St. Joseph will meet the two other images and bring them back to St. Joseph Parish where they will stay until 12 am on Friday.

MCPO Deputy city director for operations and spokesperson Police Lieutenant Colonel Franc Rudolf Oriol said that they are now ready for the Traslacion and fluvial procession on Friday and Saturday.

Oriol said that there will only be a few adjustments to the deployment based on their observation during the Traslacion dry run conducted on Wednesday morning.

“Naa tay mga points along the road nga kinahanglan nato nga bantayan labi na sa mga gagmay nga eskinita,” said Oriol.

Moreover, Oriol said that the city’s curfew on minors is still in effect.

The city’s curfew on minors aged 18 years old and below runs from 10 p.m to 4 a.m.   /rcg
