Hammock strangles boy, 6

A 6-year-old boy died after his neck got entangled with the rope of a  hammock Tuesday in barangay Perelos, Carcar City, southern Cebu.

Everdeve Albrando, a kindergartner, was pronounced dead on arrival at  Carcar Provincial Hospital.

SPO3 Jorame Tanod-tanod, desk officer at the Carcar City Police Office, said  the boy was playing on the hammock that was suspended from a mango tree when his neck got entangled with its nylon rope.

Nene Bacus, a neighbor rushed to help the boy when she saw the victim struggling as he called for help.

The victim’s parents were inside their house when the incident happened.
