Miss Cebu finalists undergo personality enhancement trainings

Prior to the crowning of this year’s Miss Cebu, seminars and workshops were held to prepare the candidates for the big night on Jan. 14. The trainings were designed to brief the candidates on the different sectors and industries of Cebu, as well as enhance their personality and social skills.

These include a Toastmasters communication workshop, work-shop on communications with Margie Visitacion at Communications Arts Learning Center, talk on personality development by Miss Intercontinental second runner-up Kris Janson, media training with broadcaster Rico Lucena and dialogues with Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama.

Together with the Make Up Artist Club of Cebu (MUACC), Jonas Borces gave the finalists pointers on the essential skills needed in every pageant through a set of trainings on walking, makeup application, wardrobe and jewelry selection. The ladies also attended a lecture on business etiquette and fine dining by Ms. Julie Najar and lecture on social graces and protocol by Dra. Milagros Espina.

Upholding the essence of a true Cebuana, the Miss Cebu 2015 candidates were given a cultural background of the province with a lecture on Visayan language headed by Carlo Dugaduga and a workshop
on Cebu history, culture and heritage led by Cebu City Tourism Commission Chairperson Tetta Baad. Talks on the successful tourism industry of Cebu by Commissioner Alice Queblatin and Marlon Barrientos of D.O.T. VII, and lectures on business prospects and Cebu’s export industries by Jay Aldeguer and Hope Melgar respectively gave the finalists insights on how to promote the Queen City of the South.

Moreover, the candidates took Cebu City’s official cultural and heritage tour where they visited the mountain barangays via the 1st Cebu City Mayor’s River-Mountain Trail Run. The finalists also participated in events such as Pasko sa Sugbo, Cebu’s 1st Diwali Festival and CCTC’s Balik Cebu Program, as well as went to provinces to discover the wonders of nature such as the Bojo river, Mainit springs and Aguinid Falls.

Catch Cebu’s lovely ladies vying for the crown at the Miss Cebu 2015 Pre-Pageant night on Jan. 10, Saturday, 7 p.m. at the Ayala Center Cebu.

The Coronation Night of the 31st Miss Cebu will be held on Jan. 14, Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. at the Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino and will be telecast live on Studio 23.

Tickets for the Coronation Night are now available at the online voting booths, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino, Cebu City Tourism Commission Office at the second floor of the Rizal Museum
and Public Library in Osmeña Boulevard at P500, P1,000, and P1,500.
