POLICE suspect that two women arrested in separate buy-bust operations, including one target in Mambaling, Cebu City who yielded P6 million worth of shabu, have the same financier.
Supt. Romeo Santander, chief of the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) of the Cebu City Police Office, said police have an idea who the financier is and is verifying the lead.
Last Saturday, Emelyn Dingal, 45, was arrested in barangay Duljo-Fatima with more than P1million worth of illegal drugs.
A separate operation in barangay Mambaling led to the arrest of 54-year-old Maria Lourdes Sabello.
At least P6 million of suspected drugs were seized from her.
Sabello, a mother of five, sold shabu worth P5,000 to a police decoy, according to authorities.
Police said before the buy-bust, the woman was seen repacking shabu.
The arresting team confiscated two medium-sized packs, a half kilo pack, and 42 small packs of suspected shabu.
Also seized were a .38 revolver and P3,000 cash.
The woman admitted she sold drugs and said she was forced to engage in this business due to poverty.
Police said Sabello could be considered a level one drug pusher capable of disposing 500 grams to one kilo of shabu a week.
