Doctor dies in road accident in Argao, Cebu

A road accident in Argao town, southern Cebu claimed the life of a doctor on Monday, September 4, 2023.
Authorities from Argao confirmed that Dr. Annie Irene Rufo, a community dentist, died shortly after the sports utility vehicle (SUV) she was driving rammed into the rear end of a truck parked along the highway in Brgy. Bulasa.
Dr. Rufo was a dentist of the Department of Health (DOH) deployed in Boljoon town, investigators from the Argao Police Station said. Boljoon is a town around 50 kilometers south of Argao.
Cebu officials mourns loss of community dentist
Local officials in southern Cebu province mourned the loss of Dr. Annie Irene Rufo, a dentist who dedicated her career to serving communities there before her life was cut tragically in a fatal road mishap on Monday, September 4.
Boljoon Mayor Jojie Derama said they were saddened by the untimely death of Dr. Annie Irene Rufo, who suffered a terrible fate in Argao while on her way to work on Monday.

Rama offers witness protection program for new witness on Tocmo’s murder under one condition
Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama is willing to assist a certain Bianca Lee, who claims to have information that contradicts police findings in the murder of Reah Mae Tocmo, in enrolling in the state’s Witness Protection Program.
Rama, in an interview with lawyer Ruphil Bañoc’s Straight to the Point for dyHP, said the city government would like to help Bianca Lee under one condition. The newly surfaced witness must tell the truth.
