CEBU CITY, Philippines— Help get these pups into new homes.
This is the plea of actress Nadine Lustre on her Instagram stories as she rescued five puppies who were left unattended around their area.
Nadine said these puppies were supposed to be tossed in the river nearby by their owner.
“The crew told us that the owner is planning to toss them in the river if no one would take them because there are ‘too many dogs’ around,” said Nadine.

Being a pet owner herself, this did not sit right with Nadine, and so she decided to temporarily take care of the puppies until she could find them a new home.

“I’ll be taking care of them in the meantime while we’re still looking for a new home for them,” she said.
Standing up against animal cruelty
Nadine said this is her way of standing up against animal cruelty that is happening near her home.
She also said that she couldn’t stand the thought of letting these innocent pups get killed.

As of writing, Lustre said that two of the puppies are already accounted for. If anyone wants to adopt the rest, they can message her on her Instagram account.

Let this also be a reminder to everyone that if you can no longer take care of your pets, do not throw them or kill them. There’s someone out there, like Nadine, who can help them find a new home.
You can also contact your local pet shelter to help you rehome these animals to make sure they go to a new furparent.
