Siya ay 71 years old.

“I think, it hasn’t sunk in yet (pagpanaw ni Mike). Kasi marami pang tao, pero I’m sure all of these, tapos ako na lang mag-isa sa bahay. I don’t know, I really don’t know,” ang emosyonal na pagbabahagi ni Baby.

“Pero lumaban siya?” ang tanong ni Jessica. “Of course. Yes, Yes, up to the end,” tugon ni Baby.

Kaya nga ang nagiging consolation ko na lang ngayon kahit it’s very sad, kasi he’s been through a lot, his body na was full of ano na, e, holes.

“Yung huling hole niya is yung tracheostomy ba yun? Nilagyan na siya ng ano dito (lalamunan). At the end, dina-dialyze na siya because of the infection. It was affecting his kidneys already, so they had to do dialysis. And dito nila pinapadaan (kaliwang part ng leeg).

“Yung new kidney niya was doing well. No rejection at all. Kaya nga sabi ko, sayang, you know,” pagbabahagi pa ni Baby.

Kasunod nito, nagkakumplikasyon raw sa operasyon ng asawa dahil sa pneumonia, “Because nga, yun palang kidney transplant, they give you anti-rejection medicine.

“And that anti-rejection medicine lowers your immune system. So, kaya nahirapan ang mga doctors to arrest the infection because of that,” kuwento pa ng naulilang misis ni Mike.

“But sadly, during his last day of having dialysis, his BP dropped and suddenly his heartbeat stopped,” aniya pa.

Hanggang sa i-message na siya ng caregiver ni Mike mula sa St. Luke’s Medical Center, “I was on the way na to the hospital, siguro mga one o’clock, and then suddenly the caregiver texted me na, ‘Ma’am, Sir Mike is being resuscitated already.’

“’Ha?’ When I arrived at the hospital, three times na siya naano, e, na-revive.

I’ll be fine. I’ll be fine. I know God will not forsake me. Kung pagod ka na, you rest na. And I love you.’

“Yun lang ang sinabi ko and then I broke down na, e.
