Batch 2004, 2011 rule SHAABAA Season 26 games on Wednesday

CEBU CITY, Philippines — ’04 The Win-Batch 2004 and Puresteel Manufacturing Corporation-Batch 2011 put on dominating games on Wednesday evening’s Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Season 26 held at the Benedicto College gymnasium.
Batch 2004 outplayed the Flashket Grocery Delivery App-Batch 2009, 91-69, while Batch 2011 beat Bigatin Trading-Batch 2008, 97-69, both in Division B.
Batch 2004 bounced back from their heartbreaking defeat against Batch 2008, 58-59, last Sunday.
This time, they didn’t let the win slip away, as they led as many as 24 points, 91-67, in the endgame.
Also, five of its players tallied double-digit scores that guaranteed them the much-needed win.
Ervin Lopena dropped a double-double game of 24 points with 11 assists. He was two rebounds shy from tallying a triple-double after grabbing eight boards and one steal.
Franco Augusto Te also had a double-double outing of 18 points, 11 boards, and two assists.
Their teammates Christopher Consunji, Dave Soria, and Miguel Lorenzo scored 20, 12, and 11 points, respectively.
Their bench delivered 26 points which made a huge difference in the game, despite Batch 2009 slightly gaining the upper hand in the painted area after scoring 36 points over Batch 2004’s 32.
Meanwhile, Kylle Edwin Valmoria scored 22 points with nine rebounds, three assists, one steal, and a block in Batch 2009’s losing efforts.
Jay Christian Dela Cruz had 19 points, while Niel Benedicto and Allan James Canama each tallied 11 markers in their loss.
On the other hand, the Kiefer Lim and Franz Pachero tandem provided Batch 2011 its dominating win with their double-double performances.
Lim unloaded 26 points with 10 boards, two assists, and two steals. Pacheco scored 23 points, and grabbed 16 rebounds with three assists, and one steal.
Their teammates Bernard Chioson and Bradley Bacaltos scored 18 and 10 points, apiece.
Before grabbing a huge lead, Batch 2011 endured six lead changes and four deadlocks.
They banked on their bench which contributed 17 points and their defense yielded them 17 points from turnovers.
Ed Bonphyl Macasling had 19 points, while Elmer Mikey Cabahug added 18, and Jonathan Cimafranca with 15 points in Batch 2008’s defeat. / dcb
