CEBU CITY, Philippines — While the contingents of the Karansa Festival in Danao city were performing for their street dance competition, an adorable spectator entertained the onlookers on Sunday, September 17.

A female dog, clad in a festival costume, caught the attention of some spectators of the street parade on Sunday afternoon in Danao City.

Noel Legaspina, who is from Barangay Opao in Mandaue City, decided to bring Princess Bulldog to Danao City to witness the Karansa Festival.

The adorable spectator

Legaspina told CDN Digital on Sunday that he wanted to see the celebration of the festival in Danao City.

And he found it more fun to experience the festival if he brings his labrador with him while riding his bike.

He said he started making Princess wear a festival costume last year during the celebration of the Sinulog Festival in Cebu City.

He found it adorable when Princess wore a festival costume because he wanted to make sure that she could feel the festivity.

“Wala ra man sad siya’y reklamo. Dili man niya hilabtan ang costume nga iyang gisul-ob,” he said.

(She did not have any complaints. He did not do anything with the costume she wore.)

Princess Bulldog is a good dog

He also found it entertaining when people noticed his pet’s outfit and often heard reactions from them that they found Princess a unique dog.

“Buotan siya. Dili gyud siya mamaak. Bisag unsaon pa siya kay og naay magpapicture niya, manggigil ang uban, kumuton siya pero dili ra man sad siya mangunsa,” he said.

(She is a good dog. She won’t bite. Even if others would squeeze her because they found her cute, she would not still do anything to hurt the ones who did it to her.)

He added that he never experienced Princess acting grumpy or mad when people touch her upon finding her adorable in her costume.

Why a labrador got to be named Princess Bulldog

Although Princess is a labrador, her second name became “Bulldog” because his neighbors often joked that she was as big as a bulldog.

Princess is Legaspina’s first dog which was given by his cousin in 2021.

Meanwhile, the netizens also expressed liking the dog much through CDN Digital’s post on Facebook.

The Karansa Festival in Danao City recently made its comeback after four years because of the pandemic and the fire that greatly affected the city’s public market in 2022.
