SHAABAA Season 26: Batch 2011, Batch 2010 join semifinals showdown on Sunday
CEBU CITY, Philippines — The semifinals cast of the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Season 26 Division B has been completed after Puresteel Manufacturing Corporation-Batch 2011 and Efficascent Boost-BRC-Batch 2010 eliminated their respective foes on Wednesday evening, September 20, 2023, during their respective games at the Magis Eagles Arena in Mandaue City.
Batch 2011 narrowly defeated Crossfit-Subtero Batch 2006, 62-60, while Batch 2010 thrashed Bigatin Trading-Batch 2008, 70-54, to advance in Division B’s semifinals which is slated on Sunday, September 24.
Batch 2011 will face Division B’s defending champions, the Cebu Landmasters-Batch 2003, while Batch 2010 will take on ’04 The Win-Batch 2004 in their own semifinals showdown.
The semifinals round will have a best-of-three format.
During their game on Wednesday evening, Batch 2011’s power duo of Bradley Bacaltos and Bernard Chioson paced their team with their double-double outings.
Bacaltos topscored Batch 2011 with 22 points along with 11 rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Chioson added 17 markers, 19 boards, two assists, and two steeals in their hard-earned victory.
Meanwhile, Luis Yu and Raymond Besinio scored 19 and 11 points respectively in Batch 2006’s losing efforts.
On the other hand, Batch 2010’s Jasper Diaz led his team with his double-double game of 18 points, 15 boards, two assists, and two blocks.
Gabe Branzuela aided him with 16 points while Joseph Zozobrado added 10 markers.
Elmer Mikey Cabahug tallied a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Jonathan Cimafranca had 10 points in Batch 2008’s loss. / dcb
