A woman was wounded while a homeless man was killed by a stray bullet during a shooting attack by a motorcycle-riding gunman and his cohort against the woman early this morning, September 24, 2023, in downtown Cebu City.

Police Staff Sergeant Kitz Daryl Palaña, investigator-on-case of the Carbon Police Station, identified the wounded woman as Marissa Cabonsi Cabaleon, who suffered a gunshot wound on the face.

Palaña also identified the homeless man, who was killed by a stray bullet as Arnel dela Cruz.

Habagat to affect CV, Metro Cebu until Wednesday — Pagasa

Rainy days in Cebu will still prevail in the following days.

According to the forecast by Engineer Al Quiblat, chief of Pagasa Mactan, the southwest monsoon, locally known as “habagat” will continue to affect Central Visayas including Metro Cebu.

For the next four days, which is until Wednesday, September 27, Metro Cebu will experience cloudy skies with chances of light to moderate rains.

Philhealth temporarily shuts down systems after hackers attack website

The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (Philhealth) has temporarily shut down affected online systems after computer hackers attacked the website and its application system.

The computer hackers managed to take down the systems of Philhealth on Friday and blocked access to the site for more than 24 hours.

Asian Games: Patrick Perez wins PH’s first medal with poomsae bronze

Patrick King Perez delivered the first podium performance for Team Philippines at the 19th Asian Games with a bronze medal in men’s individual poomsae on Sunday.

The 23-year-old Southeast Asian Games champion gifted himself and the country with a third-place finish after dropping his semifinal showdown against Chinese Taipei’s Ma Yun Zhong at the Lin’an Sports and Culture Exhibition Centre here.
