CEBU CITY, Philippines — The PMI Bohol Boxing Stable earned the right to promote the world title eliminator between its prized ward Jake “El Bambino” Amparo against former world champion Pedro “Kid Heneral” Taduran.

The International Boxing Federation (IBF) world minimumweight title eliminator between Amparo and Taduran is scheduled on December 28, 2023 in Tagbilaran City, Bohol. This was according to PMI Bohol Boxing Stable top brass Floriezyl Echavez-Podot.

It can be recalled that the IBF ordered PMI Bohol Boxing Stable and Taduran’s Elorde Boxing Promotions to negotiate for the world title eliminator and reach a term to avoid a purse bid hearing last September 19, 2023.

The IBF recently announced that they’ve granted the sanction approval for PMI to promote the world title eliminator bout between Amparo and Taduran.

The 26-year-old Amparo of Guindulman, Bohol is ranked No. 3 in IBF’s minimumweight division, while Taduran, the former IBF world minimumweight champion, is ahead at No. 2.

Amparo has a record of 14 wins with three knockouts, four losses, and one draw. He is also the reigning World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia Pacific minimumweight champion.

Meanwhile, Taduran, has a record of 15-4-1 (win-loss-draw) with 12 knockouts.

The current world champion in this division is Mexican Daniel Valladares who will defend his title against Japanese Ginjiro Shigeoka on Saturday, October 7, at the Ota City General gymnasium in Japan.

This was already the second time PMI Bohol Boxing Stable earned to promote a world title eliminator bout.  PMI also hosted the IBF world title eliminator pitting its banner boxer Regie Suganob against Omega Boxing Gym’s Mark Vicelles for the IBF world light flyweight title last February in Calape, Bohol. / dcb
