LAPU-LAPU CITY, Philippines- Do you remember Baby Fatima?

She is the five-day-old infant that was found in bushes by a tricycle driver in a vacant lot in Barangay Pajoy, Lapu-Lapu City last July 23, 2022.

More than a year after she was rescued, Baby Fatima now has a new family after she was formally adopted.

How she was found?

In the afternoon of July 23, 2023, a tricycle driver, who was answering the call of nature, heard the cry of a baby.

The tricycle driver found a sack where the cry of the baby had originated. When he opened it, he saw baby Fatima and immediately brought the child and reported the incident to the authorities.

Among those who responded was Pajo Barangay Captain Lyndel Bullos.

Baby Fatima, when found, still had her umbilical cord attached.

The baby was immediately brought to Lapu-Lapu City Hospital, where she was treated and given medical attention.

After baby Fatima was treated, she was turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) in Lapu-Lapu City, where she was placed under the care of Norfil Foundation Inc.

Norfil is a national, non-stock, non-profit, non-governmental organization.
