Minglanilla: Man hacks, wounds neighbor over water supply dispute
CEBU CITY, Philippines — A 33-year-old man hacked and wounded his 45-year-old neighbor over a water supply dispute.
The hacking happened at past 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023, in Barangay Magduwang, Minglanilla town in southern Cebu.

How Minglanilla hacking happened
The suspect and victim were identified as Jissie Ornoño of Barangay Magduwang and Noel Antipuesto of the same barangay respectively.
Initial police investigation showed that at past 6 p.m. on Saturday, an angry Ornoño went to the victim’s house bringing with him a bolo. On the way there, he met the victim’s 15-year-old son and asked him where his father was. When the boy did not answer, the suspect proceeded to the victim’s house.
The boy then shouted a warning to his father.

Warned by son
““Bantay mo diha pa kay naa padulong si Jissie sa atong balay. Nagdala ug sundang, Patyon daw ka!,” said the boy as he shouted this warning to his father.
(Pa, watch out for Jissie, he is heading to our house. He is bringing with him a bolo. He said he would kill you!)
Antipuesto then locked their door, but the suspect Ornoño forced his way inside Antipuesto’s home and when inside the victim’s house allegedly hacked him in the thigh, his left hand and right elbow.

Attempted homicide raps await suspect
The suspect then fled after hacking the victim and headed towards Sitio Tawali, Barangay Vito, Minglanilla, Cebu.
Police are conducting a manhunt operation against Ornoño, who remained at large as of this posting.
The suspect, Ornoño will be facing attempted homicide charges for the attack against Antipuesto.
Minglanilla is a first-class municipality of Cebu Province, which is located approximately 15 kilometers south of Cebu City.
