Filipino celebs and their over the top Halloween costumes

CEBU CITY, Philippines– Halloween this year was over the top!

Why? Because of some Halloween parties with crazy themes that have gotten our Filipino celebrities bringing out their A games.

Tim Yap, who is known for his annual Halloween party, opted to pay tribute to Filipino cinema by choosing the movie “Shake, Rattle, and Roll” as his theme for this year.

Ash Rye and Raymond Guttierrez’s “Opulence Ball” finally made its comeback this year which is in its mythology era playing around with folklore, legends, and fantasy.

And while everyone’s slowing down now from Halloween weekend, let’s take a look at some of the head turners for this year’s Halloween extravaganza.

Andrea Brillantes

Andrea did three costumes this year, one as Regina George from the chick flick movie, Mean Girls; one as a mythical creature in the Philippines, manananggal; and Lilith, Adam’s first wife. In the Jewish tradition, Lilith was Adam’s first wife, not mentioned in the Bible but used to explain two Creation stories in Genesis. Lilith and Adam were both created from earth, emphasizing their equality.

The “Pamabansang Dyosa” came as herself in the Opulence Ball as “Dyosa”. With her hair down and white sexy cut dress, her Dyosa look just suits her effortlessly.

If you want to talk about dedication, this is the costume that speaks for it! Honoring the “Queen of Philippine Horror Movies” – not Kris Aquino. Lilia Cuntapay, is a teacher, mom, and actress famous for diverse roles like manananggal, aswang, and more.

James Reid and Issa Pressman

Hades and Persephone, in their black costumes, the couple chose a classic Greek mythology tandem for their looks this year. Hades and Persephone are characters from Greek mythology. Hades is the god of the underworld, while Persephone is his wife and the goddess of spring and vegetation. Their story revolves around how Persephone, while picking flowers, was abducted by Hades and taken to the underworld, leading to the changing seasons on Earth.

Sunshine Cruz

The sexy mother was joined by her three lovely daughters, who came to the ball as goddesses. The matriarch was dressed as “Aphrodite,” who is the goddess of love and beauty.

Coleen was astonishing in her red look and ensemble as she took the “Ibong Adarna” look to the next level and into the modern world of fashion.

There’s no surprise here. Cosplayer Alodia is no new to transforming from one character to another, hence, she played a “sirena” this year beautifully.

Donny Pangilinan and Belle

Darna and Captain Barbel a classics for couple costumes. No need to explain further.

Zeinab Harake

What is Halloween if there’s no Addams Family entry, right? Good thing, Zeinab and her children opted to go with the Halloween classic look for this year.

Sassa Gurl

For many, she is the winner for this year. She did not dress as a character in any movie, or series or embody a mythological creature, but a famous thing we all see at funerals, a flower with a stand. Keep it simple, but fun, right? She is a different kind of content creator.

Bretman Rock

Every year, Bretman makes it a point to play dress up with his family, especially with his nieces and nephews. This year, he went all out as his tribe got bigger.

This year, Halloween will surely be one for the books for some who went all out with their costumes. We sure know you all can’t wait for next year because of all the amazing costume ideas you have!
