AGENTS of the National Bureau of Investigation in Central yesterday seized P3 million worth of used clothing or ukay-ukay in barangay Looc, Mandaue City.

The assorted used clothing were being unloaded from a container van in a warehouse owned by a Korean national when NBI-7 agents conducted the raid at about 4 p.m, said NBI-7 assistant regional director Eric Isidoro.

Charges for violating the law against illegal importation of used clothing will be filed before the Mandaue City Prosecutors’ Office against those responsible for bringing the items.

Isidor said the NBI-7 didn’t have a search warrant during the raid but operation was valid since they saw the actual importation of the used clothing.
