Distinguished as the sole hotel honoring the 500th-year celebration of Christianity in the country, The Cebu Quincentennial Hotel stands as an embodiment of Cebuano culture and faith that have thrived for five centuries. Setting itself apart for the holiday season, the hotel introduced a distinctive touch—Christmas lanterns, skillfully crafted by individuals in cooperation with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), deviating from the traditional Christmas tree decor.
The ceremony drew key figures from the property, including Duros Group Chairman Rafaelito Barino, Duros Group President Fe Barino, Duros Hotels Managing Director Adie Gallares, Chief Finance Officer Rhea Mantuhac Andales, and Msgr. Agustin “Ting” Ancajas. Msgr. Ting emphasized the significance of the hotel’s holiday theme, stating, “The stars perpetually connect us to the birth of our Lord, and tonight’s illumination of the stars vividly embodies the hotel’s mission—to Christianize the ongoing work of evangelization.”
Additionally, Duros Group President Fe Barino expressed “These stars represents the people who are welcome in this hotel, Looking at these stars, the Cebu Quincentennial Hotel will be the center of faith and tourism here in Cebu as the hotel was established to commemorate the 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines.”
