Things get sweaty in summer. Whether looking for a place to chill or just doing some last-minute shopping for your summer adventure, Banilad Town Centre is the lifestyle destination to meets all your needs.

As temperatures soar, BTC lists down essential summer tips to keep you cool and fab this season.
DRINK UP

On a sweltering day, it’s easy to reach out for quick fixes such as sodas or sweetened beverages to satiate thirst. Increasing water intake is essential to keeping hydrated especially during a hot day. For those who prefer flavored beverages, there are a variety of healthy options to choose from.

“Serving different kinds of smoothies, fresh juices and teas brewed from natural leaves do not only provide a welcoming respite to the heat but the added nutritional value keeps us functioning and active in hot weather,” shares Jun Angeles, the man behind the all-natural pressed juice and smoothie Mooshi Green Bar.

As a triathlete, Angeles makes sure that he is taking enough nutrition to keep his body going. This is why he advises to get creative juices flowing by mixing leafy green vegetables with fruit smoothies to achieve better results and nutritional value.

“Reinvent the usual fruit smoothie fare by adding a savory blend of mild-flavored greens such as spinach and lettuce. The whole leafy greens provide antioxidants and high fiber content prolonging the emerging effects of energy while keeping the blood sugar balanced,” adds Angeles.

And for those who are not very big fans of the greens? Angeles said not to worry for you will even barely taste some of the mild-flavored greens. He also suggests to introduce vegetables slowly in the diet to build love for veggies.

After a rigorous workout or when you just want to beat the heat, grab a drink at Mooshi Green Bar located at the ground floor of the Banilad Town Centre for some refreshing fluid replenishment.

Another way to embrace the natural detoxifying heat of the season is to just sweat it out. Nothing says purification better than a good amount of sweat release through yoga. The holistic approach of yoga is to provide therapy and harmony to the mind and body. It allows you to listen to your body, thus making you more aware of your posture and alignment.

“Yoga works for everyone. A regular yoga practice can provide many benefits, making the body more flexible and helping you relax even in stressful environments, and there are a variety of forms to choose from. Five rounds of Sun Salutation are good enough for those who don’t have time to exercise,” says Jen Martinez of YogaHub.

Various types of yoga are offered at YogaHub such as Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Hatha, Power Yoga, Deep Stretch, Hot Yoga and Beginners Yoga. Practicing the fitness technique will help you achieve that enviable summer bikini body in no time.

REFRESH YOUR STYLE

With the fashion forecast as fiery as the weather, add a touch of whimsy to your summer wardrobe with trendy style staples from Cabana and SOAK Swimwear located at the ground floor of the Banilad Town Centre.

On trend this season are summer prints from nautical to florals and coastal patterns plus quirky styles adding flair to lightweight and easy breezy ensembles.

“Don a vibrant pair of swimwear and throw in a versatile cover up such as a kimono, robe or tunic then accessorize the look by bedazzling your sun kissed skin in jewelry-inspired designs of metallic temporary tattoos to complete the summer chic vibe,”Cabana and Soak Swimwear owner KD Syiaco suggests.

To fit and flatter your frame, choose among the wide range of swimsuit according to your body frame at Soak Swimwear.

For top heavy ladies, Syiaco recommends to minimize the focus on your chest by wearing maillots with coverage on the bust area or even a maillot with a cutout on your waist. While the curvy or apple shaped can play with color schemes to flatter their shape best. Highlight your curves by color blocking with bolder, brighter colors in one piece suits or high waists.

For pear-shaped women, balance your proportion while flaunting your curves with a swimwear that hugs your body in the right places. Draw attention to the top part by wearing eye catching tops more than the bottom. You can play with plunging necklines, fringes, ruffles, & accessories on top.
If you have broad shoulders, narrower hips and muscular legs then you belong to the Athletic Type. Focus on feminine cuts and details. Create the illusion of curves with a monokini or have fun with ruffles and embellishments on your swimwear pieces.
Cabana also offers tunics, caftans, Sunnies Studios, metallic temporary tattoos, wide rimmed beach hats, no peroxide hair highlightener spray, tonic sandals, and Maui island secret browning formula for that perfect tan.
