CEBU’S premier wakeboarder, Skrappy Koko Yuson will be busy defending his turf today against a slew of rivals coming from different parts of the country when the Summer Wake Jam 2015 national wakeboarding and wakeskating competition finally unfolds today at the Papa Kits beach resort in Liloan, north Cebu.
Yuson will not only be fighting for Cebu’s glory and honor but also for the lucrative P10,000 cash at stake for the championship title of the Wakeboard competition’s Open division.
The second and third placers, on the other hand, will pocket P5,000 and P3,000 cash, respectively.
The champion in the Ladies Open category of the wakeboard competition will take home P5,000 cash, while the second and third placers will receive P3,000 and P1,000 respectively.
The Open division wakeskate competition champion is set to receive P5,000 cash, the second placer will take home P3,000 while the third placer will get P1,000.
In the Beginner’s wakeboard, the champion will pocket P3,000 cash while the 2nd and 3rd placers will receive P2,000 and P1,000 cash, respectively.
Special awards will also be at stake like the Best Trick in the Open Wakeboard, Open Wakeskate and Ladies Open divisions.
The event will be ushered in with an orientation to all the riders starting at 8 a.m. today before the competition proper unfolds from 9 to 12 noon.
After the lunch break, hostilities will resume from 1-6 p.m.
Tomorrow, final competitions in all categories and divisions will be staged from 9 a.m. -12 noon and 1-6 p.m. The awarding ceremony will be held at 6 p.m.
