AFTER NEARLY a month of being away from home and competing against some of the best collegiate basketball squads in the nation, the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars hope to leave one long-lasting impression today as they close out their stint in the 2015 Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup with a match against the Adamson Falcons over at the Arena in San Juan City.
Though languishing at the bottom with a miserable 1-6 (win-loss) record, the Jaguars hope that the experience of competing against the Manila squads will bode them well in the upcoming battles in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) this August.
But first, they must take care of a rebuilding Adamson Falcons squad that currently has two former Cesafi standouts in their fold in former juniors MVP Dawn Ochea and ex-Southwestern University point guard Joseph Nalos.
After losing their last game, 57-70, to the Far Eastern University, the Jaguars are aiming for a victorious farewell and will lean on their reliable weapons Kevin Villafranca, James Regalado, Iron Suano and Fletcher Galvez.
