Senior Supt. Noel Gillamac, chief of the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO), and some of his men were awarded the Medalya Ng Kagalingan following the recent confiscation of close to two kilos of shabu worth P24 million in San Remigio town, northern Cebu.

Chief Supt. Prudencio Bañas, director of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) pinned the medals on the officers on Monday.

Last Friday’s police operation  led to the arrest of Maribel Arcenal, 33, and her 45-year-old brother-in-law Eduardo Arcenal, 45, in sitio Calcalan, barangay Poblacion, San Remigio.

Maribel’s husband was arrested in 2011 also for illegal drugs.

During the awarding ceremony at the PRO-7 Headquarters, Bañas  urged his men to double their efforts in fighting illegal drugs.
