WITH THE MAIN purpose of launching the dragon boat scene here in Cebu, the Cebu Provincial Sports Commission (CPSC) will hold a dragon boat training and exhibition starting tomorrow at the Pulangbato Wharf in Bogo City, northern Cebu.
The event, held in line with the celebration of Bogo City’s fiesta, is organized by the Dragon Boat Central-Cebu, City of Bogo and the CPSC.
The training will be held tomorrow and on Friday. while the exhibition will be on Saturday.
The training starts at 3 p.m. It will be open to all and is free. The training will also be held at the Pulangbato Wharf.
The exhibition on Saturday will be participated by those who joined the training.
The exhibition will be graced by Ma. Ailene Padrones, a member of the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation who participated in the 2013 World Dragon Boat Championships in Hungary.
Randy Su, one of the commissioners of the CPSC, said other places like Davao, Iloilo and Bohol already have dragon boat teams, which is why they want to give this sport more exposure in Cebu.
The exhibition will be facilitated by the Bohol Paddlers Association and will be done after the Bankarera event, another activity that is part of Bogo City’s fiesta.
