CEBU CITY, Philippines – Authorities have filed extortion charges against two individuals, who allegedly filmed an explicit video of their friend and demanded money in exchange for not showing the video to her family.

The cases were filed at the Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office on Thursday, June 20, 2024.

The suspects were caught in the act of receiving the P200,000 cash they demanded from the victim during an entrapment operation on Tuesday evening, June 18.

The operation was conducted inside a shopping mall along the N. Bacalso Street in Cebu City.

The extortion suspects were identified as Jaime Lisondra Ferrer Jr. alias “Jaijai,” and Raul Fajardo Dumagil, both of legal age.

Ferrer is a resident of Borbon, Samboan, Cebu while Dumagil is from Barangay Duljo Fatima in Cebu City.

Both individuals are accused of filming their friend performing a sexually explicit act and extorting money in exchange for non-publication and deletion of the video.

A report from the National Bureau of Investigation in Central Visayas (NBI-7) disclosed that the operation stemmed from a request by the victim’s lawyer regarding the video.

The video was taken at around April and May while the group of friends were inside a room at a prominent hotel and casino in Cebu.

The victim reportedly got drunk and performed a sexually explicit act with an exotic dancer they hired. During this, the suspects began recording without her consent.

The victim gave the money to the suspects who then demanded an additional P1,000,000.

NBI-7 further relayed that the extortion suspects proceeded to show the sensitive video to one of the victim’s friends and demanded “pahalipay” in exchange.

After being caught red-handed on Tuesday, Ferrer and Dumagil are now in the custody of NBI-7.

Both suspects were charged for the violation of the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009 in relation to Section 6 of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, and robbery extortion.
